What we do
IBP works with members and experts to develop policies and guidance covering all sectors and requirements of the oil, gas and biofuels industry. Read below about our activities, advocacy, initiatives and priorities for each of our areas of focus.
Ethical conduct has always been the foundation of our organization. The continuous and voluntary collaboration of our Board and our Associates, collectively with their management teams and employees, is fundamental to the continued growth of our entity and a solid and sustainable industry in the country.
IBP is the driving force of the Oil, Gas and Biofuels sector in Brazil. As our organization and the oil and gas market evolve, it is important that we keep the highest standards of ethics and excellence in all our activities and in achieving our goals.
For us, compliance has become a key element in the development of the industry, and we are making efforts to become a forum for discussion and dissemination of the culture of integrity in Brazil. Whether through our educational projects, or through collective actions of our Commission, we have brought into IBP this theme that is relevant to us, and we want it to reach every level of the production chain.
We do what is right, we assume ethical, transparent, impartial and non-partisan conduct. We focus exclusively on issues of general interest to the industry, respecting the law, rules, and contracts, we do not act in commercial matters and we do not defend or support political parties.
We act with leadership, excellence and technical foundation for the development of the industry, aiming at improving the business environment, encouraging free competition and attracting investments.
We are responsible for developing actions that promote the best practices in health, safety, and environment, aiming at the sustainability of the Oil, Gas and Biofuels industry.
We value human capital and are committed to promoting diversity, certain that differences are a source of strength and an essential ingredient for our success.
The Integrity Pact, launched at Rio Oil & Gas 2018, is a committee of representatives of 14 IBP associated companies – Petrobras, Shell, BP, Chevron, Halliburton, Repsol Sinopec, Schlumberger, Equinor, Aker Solutions, BHGE, Ocyan, Siemens, Total and TechnipFMC – with the observance of a high standard of integrity in the conduct of their activities, aiming to promote an ethical, sustainable, transparent, environmentally and socially responsible business model. Best Practice Guide
Resulting from the Oil, Gas and Biofuel Industry Integrity Pact, this Guide is the result of the second work of the Compliance Committee, with the support of the Ethos Institute and the Ministry of Transparency and General Comptroller of the Union (CGU). Its purpose is to simply and synthetically convey basic guidelines for adopting an integrity program that is appropriate to industry risks. Available only in Portuguese.
IBP provides a secure and reliable communication channel with security mechanisms to ensure the anonymity of the whistleblower. Reports can be sent to the email email@example.com
The Commission’s initiatives are intended to become a benchmark for the oil and gas industry in the fight against corruption and to win more companies in the industry. The purpose is to increase access to information and to corroborate the dissemination of a high standard of integrity in the conduct of activities relevant to the sector.
