Organized by IBP, the event will run from 22 to 24 September in Rio de Janeiro and will discuss the role of pipelines in pre-salt developments.

Recognized as the world’s second-largest pipeline event, Rio Pipeline Conference & Exposition is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2015. The 10th edition of the two-yearly conference will take place from 22 to 24 September, in Rio de Janeiro. Organized by the Brazilian Institute for Oil, Gas and Biofuels (IBP), Rio Pipeline will bring together students and professionals from technical and management backgrounds to share experience on new technologies and best management practices in the sector. Registration is open at www.riopipeline.com.br.

The underlying theme this year will be the important role that subsea pipelines play in pre-salt developments. A highlight of the event program this year is the opening panel providing an overview of the oil & gas industry, with PPSA CEO Oswaldo Pedrosa. Speakers from companies such as Petrobras, Tenaris, Smarttech and DNV have also been confirmed.

The Forum will discuss issues surrounding pipeline construction and assembly, operation inspection and maintenance. The event will also include an exhibition with some of the industry’s leading companies showcasing technology and services soon to be introduced into Brazil’s oil and gas industry.

“Rio Pipeline was created in response to significant investments in onshore pipelines in Brazil, and has reached its 10th edition as one of the premier platforms for doing business in this area”, says IBP’s Executive Manager for Marketing, Petrochemicals and Biofuels, Ernani Filgueiras.
