The Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas (IBP), the main representative of the oil and gas sector in the country, has set up a financial fund so that its member companies can make donations to support the victims of the floods in Rio Grande do Sul.

Financial donations will be made directly to IBP, which will pass on the funds raised to an organization recommended by the institute’s social responsibility committee, Movimento União Brasil, which, through the Children’s Institute (Instituto da Criança), is coordinating the use of these funds to help those most in need.

In addition, IBP is organizing a front to make it possible to donate fuel to the direct and indirect public administration of any of the Federal, State, Federal District and Municipal Branches, to help rescue the affected population.

Fuel supply logistics management
IBP continues to work with its members to coordinate actions to minimize the impact on fuel supply in the region hit by the heavy rains in Rio Grande do Sul.
The Institute remains in close contact with the authorities of the federal government and the state of Rio Grande do Sul to speed up the actions needed to secure supplies. It also maintains, via crisis room, the management of the impacts of the rains on the companies’ operations and the continuous evaluation of contingency measures to provide the public agencies with information.
