The IBP´s Social Responsibility Committee has just submitted an important assessment on Oil and Gas industry contribution in Brazil for a Mapping for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) established by the United Nations Organization (UN).

IBP’s commission survey identified 15 projects of social and environmental responsibility developed by private companies in Brazil, in addition to Petrobras, and suggested their inclusion in the public consultation United Nations Program for Development (UNDP), the International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (IPIECA) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) held this year, between February and April.
These projects of social and environmental responsibility are very diversified, ranging from Upstream to Downstream, from the approach to combat climate change and protect marine life to support the education and development of local communities.

“This inclusion of more companies in the mapping of the contribution to the ODSs is of great importance to enhance the performance of the private sector in Brazil,” explains IBP’s executive manager for Institutional Relations, Rosângela Nucara.
