The last edition invested R$ 15 million and created more than 3,000 direct and indirect jobs in the city

The most important oil and gas business and networking platform in Latin America, Rio Oil & Gas 2020 has extended the deadline for those interested in submitting their abstracts, which can be sent up to March 15th through the website.

One of the new additions to the 20th edition is the inclusion of Energy Transition among the subjects for submission and development of technical papers. The other themes are: Exploration and Production; Offshore; Midstream and Downstream; Natural Gas; Digital Transformation; and Management and Leadership. Those selected will be able to present their projects in two different formats: oral and digital poster.

The final projects will run for honorable mentions and be published in IBP’s online library, with ISSN and DOI registration, and may also be indexed in international scientific database. Authors will also be able to run for the Plínio Cantanhede Award, delivered to the best technical papers presented at an IBP event.

Rio Oil & Gas 2020

In the wake of the oil industry resumption, Rio Oil & Gas 2020 will be held from September 21 to 24, at Riocentro, located in Rio de Janeiro. The event, which promotes “Energy for a changing world”, will be divided into an exhibition, a congress with seven themes and 10 parallel events. The success can be demonstrated by more than 10,000 m² already sold in the pavilions, 55% higher compared to 2018.

IBP invested R$ 15 million in the 19th edition of Rio Oil & Gas (2018). The event attracted 42,000 visitors, 23% more than in 2016. The hotel chain in the region of São Conrado, Barra and Recreio had a 61% occupancy index (from 9/24 to 9/30/18), an increase of 96% compared to the previous edition (2016). It created more than 3,000 direct and indirect jobs. In the last edition, almost 40% of the audience was comprised of executives and managers.
