At October 30, the IBP gathered Rio Oil and Gas 2018 exhibitors and sponsors to deliver a statement of the official results of the event. The conference, the biggest oil and gas industry event in Latin America, that happened from September 24 to 27, in Rio de Janeiro.

To IBP president, José Firmo, if the regulatory framework keeps advancing as the last two years, the 2020 exhibition will make the 2018 edition look small. He also highlighted the event networking quality.

“One of the reasons we plan an event like that, is to deliver to all of you a piece of information that is not in the web, not in the internet, not in any publication. The only way to get the perception of what will be the future is to make a reunion between people, listening to different perspectives”, affirmed.


Numbers of the event

With a 39, 000 square meter area, the exhibition received more than 480 exhibitor’s brands and 33 sponsors. Comparing to 2016 edition, the Rio Oil and Gas had a 25% increase in visitation: 42, 200, majorly composed by managers, directors and industry professionals. The congress broke the record in number of delegates – 5,000 – and 200 speakers and more than 600 technical papers. Including 10 parallel events, the event surpassed a thousand content presentations.

According to the statement presented by IBP Events Manager, Victor Montenegro, the Rio Oil & Gas had visitors from 76 countries, such as United States, Norway and Argentina.

One of the innovations of this edition was the Strategic Tour with 285 strategic visitors, including delegations from Canada, Italy, Malaysia, Russia, France, Germany, Mozambique, Netherlands and others. Consultants hired by IBP were in charge to discourse about the opportunities Brazil has to offer and guide those visitors through the exhibition.

Firmo also mentioned others events planned for 2019 such as OTC Brazil, Rio Pipeline and O&G Techweek, and recalled the market cannot lose this positive environment and should continue investing and participating in upcoming events.
