IBP Conducts Its First Certification Audit in Amapá, Expanding Operations to a New Region of Brazil
The Instituto Brasileiro de Petróleo, Gás e Biocombustíveis (IBP) has conducted its first-ever audit in the state of Amapá, marking the expansion of its certification activities into a new region of the country. The audit took place aboard FORESEA's NS-42 offshore drilling unit and was among the first certification audits carried out by the IBP Certification team under the criteria established by the new regulation governing the certification process.
The audit is part of the work carried out by the IBP, which is accredited by Inmetro to certify In-House Equipment Inspection Services (SPIE), contributing to process compliance and strengthening operational safety across the industry.
During the audit, the team assessed compliance with the certification requirements, including inspections of the facilities, verification of records, and observation of the unit's operational practices. Overall, the auditors found the facilities to be well maintained and organized, with equipment properly identified and the audited processes compliant with the applicable requirements.
This audit reinforces the IBP's commitment to supporting the evolution of the oil and gas industry by delivering technical rigor, impartiality, and reliability in certification processes across different regions of Brazil, contributing to enhanced safety, operational integrity, and technical excellence in the energy sector.
