Certification
Since 2002, IBP’s Certification Division has been accredited by INMETRO’s General Coordination of Accreditation (Cgcre/INMETRO) to act as a Product Certification Body (OCP) for its Equipment Inspection Specific Service, known by the acronym SPIE. The SPIE certification can be requested by all industries that work with boilers, pressure vessels, metal storage tanks and/or pipes. SPIE audits enable higher industry production without harm to safety levels.
To obtain the SPIE Certification, companies have to meet 62 requirements that are set by INMETRO. Every year, the IBP Product Certification Body (OCP/IBP) carries out audits to check that the SPIE continues to maintain the previously assessed level.
The entire process is monitored by the Certification Committee (ComCer), the Impartiality Committee (ComImp) and evaluated annually by Cgcre/INMETRO.
