Asphalt Mixtures WG
This technical group was created to study the behavior of asphalt mixtures, evaluating fatigue life and resistance to permanent deformation.
Green Book WG
This group was created with the goal of updating the well-known book BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT ASPHALT MATERIALS, widely known as the green book.
SMS WG
This Working Group deals with issues related to Occupational Safety, Environment, and Health in road engineering. It is comprised of professionals from the Asphalt Committee who monitor standards and new technologies with a view to their impact on the SMS sector.
Asphalt Meeting Organizing Committee
This committee is dedicated to putting together the Asphalt Meeting, an event that aims to discuss key issues in the industry. There have been 24 editions of the Asphalt Meeting so far, both in person and online.
WG Asphalt Binders
A working group focused on developing and proposing updates to Brazilian specifications for bituminous asphalt binders. This WG is currently developing specifications for emulsions for pavement recycling, contributing to sustainability in road engineering.
Performance Testing WG
A working group focused on evaluating and implementing new testing methods based on pavement performance, seeking to achieve long-lasting pavements through the appropriate use of resources. This group is currently evaluating the SUPERPAVE methodology.
The Biofuels Committees are responsible for developing technical content aimed at standardizing and continuously improving the quality of biofuels, with an emphasis on the fuel ethanol and biodiesel segments. The groups discuss and develop technical standards for terminology, quality requirements, testing methods, handling, storage, and other aspects relevant to the production and use of these biofuels. Moreover, these groups lead the international work of ISO/TC 28/SC 7 – Liquid Biofuels, to align and harmonize Brazilian standards with international best practices, promoting innovations for the safety and sustainability of the biofuel sector.
Biodiesel SC
The Biodiesel Study Committee aims to develop technical content for standardization in the biodiesel sector regarding testing, handling, and storage methods.

this WG aims to technically review the requirements of ABNT NBR 10894, Ethanol fuel – Chloride and sulfate concentration measurement – Ion chromatography.
Iron/Copper/Sodium WG
this WG aims to technically review the requirements of ABNT NBR 11331, Ethanol fuel — Measurement of iron concentration — Atomic absorption spectrometry, ABNT NBR 10422, Ethanol fuel — Measurement of sodium concentration — Flame photometry or atomic absorption spectrometry, and propose the technical drafting of Draft Standard 034:007.001-009, Ethanol fuel — Copper concentration measurement — Graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry method.
Standard for Determination of Methanol in Ethanol WG
this WG aims to technically review the requirements of ABNT NBR 16041, Ethanol fuel — Methanol and ethanol content measurement by gas chromatography.
The Fuel Commission conducts studies on the quality and specifications of fuels and biofuels, considering production, distribution, consumption, and environmental aspects, especially in areas such as specification, quality assurance/standards, innovation, and interface with the automotive industry.
