It’s a ROG.e Year: The World’s Largest Energy Festival Returns in an Expanded Edition at Riocentro
The countdown to ROG.e 2026 has begun. Organized by the Brazilian Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Institute (IBP), one of the world’s leading energy events will take place from September 21 to 24 at Riocentro, in Rio de Janeiro, in an expanded edition set to further establish the event as one of the industry’s premier global gathering points.
Building on the remarkable growth achieved since its last edition, ROG.e 2026 is expected to welcome approximately 75,000 participants, 650 exhibiting companies, and more than 80 sponsors, in addition to offering hundreds of hours of technical and strategic content. The exhibition area will also reflect this expansion, reaching 22,000 square meters—a 60% increase compared to 2024—demonstrating the growing interest of companies and organizations in participating in the event.
The move to Riocentro, Latin America’s largest convention and exhibition center, reflects this new phase. The venue offers expanded infrastructure and greater capacity to host attendees, exhibitors, and immersive experiences. With more than 500,000 square meters of total area, parking for 7,000 vehicles, an integrated hotel, and certification for 100% renewable energy use, the complex was named Brazil’s Best Convention Center at the World MICE Awards 2024 for the third consecutive year.
More than a physical expansion, the 2026 edition also represents a shift in concept. The goal is to transform ROG.e into a true energy festival, combining knowledge, business opportunities, networking, and experiences in an environment designed to foster meaningful connections and discussions about the future of energy.
In addition to the traditional Technical Conference—which brings together academics, researchers, and industry experts to present scientific and technical papers—the program will feature more than 600 hours of content and strategic sessions with CEOs and global energy leaders. During the previous edition, more than 800 technical papers were presented, reinforcing the event’s role as a platform for knowledge sharing and innovation.
The attendee experience will also be enhanced through a diverse portfolio of parallel events designed to encourage discussion and foster connections across different segments of the industry. Altogether, ROG.e 2026 will host 12 parallel events covering topics ranging from oil and gas production to diversity, innovation, and talent development.
Among the highlights is the Brazilian Producers Forum – IBP / ABPIP, an evolution of the Onshore Forum held in 2024, which will bring together specialists and executives to discuss the development of onshore oil and gas production in Brazil. Another key event is the DE&I Forum, dedicated to sharing best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion both within and beyond the energy sector, in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The parallel program will also feature initiatives such as the Lubricants Arena, returning after the success of its previous edition to deepen discussions on innovation, quality, and regulation in the lubricants sector, and the Multi-Energy & Decarb Arena, which will expand dialogue on the integration of multiple energy sources—including renewables, biofuels, natural gas, and hydrogen—reflecting the advancement of the decarbonization agenda.
Another highlight will be the Young Summit, a platform dedicated to the development of young professionals and students interested in the future of the energy industry. The event will promote discussions on careers, innovation, and the skills required for the evolving energy landscape. The program will also include technology and innovation-focused initiatives such as iUP Innovation Connections, organized by IBP’s innovation hub, as well as networking experiences including the Energy Run, the golf tournament, and the traditional Gala Dinner.
With growing international participation—approximately 11% of attendees at the previous edition came from outside Brazil—ROG.e continues to strengthen its role as a global platform for discussions on energy transition, innovation, and sustainability. At the same time, the event generates significant economic impact for Rio de Janeiro, attracting visitors from across Brazil and around the world. Approximately 40% of attendees come from outside the state, contributing to business tourism and the creation of both direct and indirect jobs.
By bringing together companies, experts, policymakers, investors, and emerging talent, ROG.e 2026 reaffirms its position as one of the leading forums for dialogue and the development of solutions for the future of energy.
