UnIBP Celebrates 7 Years with a Focus on Qualification, Diversity, and Innovation in the Energy Sector

Free courses and strategic programs reinforce IBP’s Sectoral University commitment to the oil, gas, and biofuels industry

UnIBP, the University of the Oil and Gas Sector, celebrates seven years of activity on September 24, consolidating its position as a benchmark in professional qualification for the oil, gas, and energy industry. Since 2017, the institution has played a strategic role in developing new leaders and bringing professionals and students closer to the current and future demands of the sector.

This month’s highlight is the Elas Movem a Energia (Women Driving Energy) program, with applications open until October. Designed for women who aspire to secure their first leadership position or expand their career influence, the program offers profile assessments, one-on-one mentoring with experienced industry professionals, self-leadership and storytelling workshops, as well as in-person opening and closing events.

Another important initiative is the Artificial Intelligence Applied to the Oil and Gas Industry learning track, developed in partnership with Radix. It consists of five sequential courses already open for enrollment, starting with Analysis and Exploration of Industrial Data, which presents practical applications of data science focused on asset integrity, operational reliability, and real-time decision-making support.

UnIBP also promotes the AI for Business in the Sector course, in partnership with CESAR School, aimed at executives and managers seeking to understand, in a practical and strategic way, how artificial intelligence can boost results, optimize operations, and support critical decision-making in the oil and gas industry.

In addition to technical training, UnIBP runs the Student Ecosystem, an initiative that connects university students to the reality of the sector through sponsorships, support, and networking activities. The program strengthens the bridge between academia and industry, helping attract new talent and reduce the gap between students and the energy market.

For Karen Cubas, UnIBP’s manager, celebrating seven years also means celebrating the thousands of students who have participated in its courses, mentoring sessions, and programs, and who today are transforming the sector with their knowledge and leadership. “As the University of the Oil and Gas Sector, our mission is to democratize access to high-quality education, preparing professionals to face the challenges of the energy transition, technological innovation, and workplace diversity,” she said.

Reinforcing its commitment to accessibility, UnIBP also offers free courses for those seeking to further their qualifications. Currently, several programs are open for enrollment in different areas on the UnIBP portal. Among the highlights is a new Artificial Intelligence for Students course, specially developed to introduce practical concepts of the technology and its impact on the energy industry. The initiative aims to spark the interest of new talent and support their entry into the sector.

With initiatives that combine qualification, innovation, and diversity, UnIBP strengthens its commitment to developing professionals capable of leading the transformation of the energy industry, contributing to a more competitive, inclusive, and well-prepared sector to face the challenges of the energy transition.
