IBP Recognized at the 2nd Edition of the “Energy Transition with Efficiency” Award in Espírito Santo
The Brazilian Petroleum and Gas Institute (IBP) was recognized at the 2nd edition of the “Energy Transition with Efficiency” Award, organized by ACESPetro and the Espírito Santo Society of Engineers (SEE), held last week. The event brought together leading executives and companies from Espírito Santo’s energy sector.
IBP’s Executive Corporate Director, Claudia Rabello, attended the ceremony and received the award on behalf of the Institute from José Maria Cola dos Santos, President of SEE, and Manoel de Oliveira Passos, President of ACESPetro.
The recognition highlights IBP’s role and the collective strength of Brazil’s oil and gas value chain in building a sector that is increasingly innovative, sustainable, and efficient.
Brazil already has one of the most renewable energy matrices in the world, and its national oil — particularly from the pre-salt fields — has about half the carbon intensity of the global average, reinforcing the industry’s commitment to an orderly, fair, and responsible energy transition. Espírito Santo plays a key role in this context, ranking as the country’s third-largest oil producer and fourth-largest natural gas producer.
“Espírito Santo is an example of how engineering, science, and industry, working together, can build a modern and sustainable energy sector. We thank ACESPetro and SEE for this recognition, which reinforces IBP’s role as a bridge between companies, government, academia, and civil society,” said Claudia Rabello.
