IBP Launches the New ROG.e: The World’s Largest Energy Festival
The new ROG.e — one of the world’s largest energy events — was officially launched yesterday, October 8, during an exclusive event at Roxy Dinner in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro. Hosted by the Brazilian Petroleum and Gas Institute (IBP), the launch gathered executives, members, and media representatives to mark a new chapter for Brazil’s energy sector. ROG.e 2026 signals the beginning of a new era, returning to Riocentro with the ambition of becoming the world’s largest energy festival.
The next edition will take place from September 21–24, 2026, in a format designed to go beyond the traditional boundaries of an energy conference — offering an immersive experience that blends business, innovation, and entertainment. ROG.e will combine strategic discussions with live performances, interactive spaces, and networking experiences, making it a truly unique global gathering.
The return to Riocentro will allow for significant expansion, with the total area surpassing 95,000 m². The event expects to welcome 75,000 participants and 650 exhibiting companies, representing a 40% increase in exhibition space. This scale reflects the strength and growth of Brazil’s oil and gas industry, which projects more than US$ 165 billion in investments and nearly 400,000 annual jobs through 2034.
Roberto Ardenghy, IBP President, emphasized the event’s strategic evolution:
“Since 2024, ROG.e has embraced all forms of energy to lead the global dialogue on the future of the industry. For 2026, our goal is to take a major leap forward — transforming the event into a global platform of leadership. We will bring together top experts from around the world to debate critical topics such as energy transition, new exploration frontiers, and sustainable fuels, consolidating Rio de Janeiro as the world’s energy capital.”
The transformation will also bring major benefits to the city. ROG.e 2026 will be integrated with dozens of parallel, social, and sports events, boosting business tourism and hotel occupancy in Rio. Nelson Narciso Filho, Chair of the Organizing Committee and a renowned energy specialist with over 40 years of experience, highlighted the technical excellence of the Congress:
“The Organizing Committee is composed of a diverse and highly qualified group of industry experts who are working with great enthusiasm to build a comprehensive program addressing the sector’s main challenges — from downstream to upstream.”
He also announced that, for the first time, Supply Chain will have a dedicated space in the ROG.e program:
“The supply chain is becoming increasingly central to companies’ strategies, and this importance will be reflected in our agenda.”
Victor Montenegro, IBP’s Executive Events Manager, emphasized the new participant experience:
“We’re creating much more than a Congress and Exhibition — we’re creating an Energy Festival. Returning to Riocentro gives us more space for visitors and, consequently, more opportunities for connection. The event will feature concerts, entertainment areas, and dedicated transportation logistics to ensure a seamless and memorable experience for all participants — and a strong positive impact for the city of Rio.”
The success of this new approach is already evident: in just three weeks of sales, 52% of the exhibition area has been booked. In addition, five international pavilions (Norway, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Spain) and seven sponsors are already confirmed — reflecting strong global market enthusiasm for the new ROG.e positioning.
