IBP - Brazilian Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Institute

IBP is one of the supporters of SMM 2018, to be held from September 04 to 07, in Hamburg, Germany. The most important event in the maritime industry calendar, the fair, which takes place every two years, addresses the main challenges and technical upgrades of the segment, fostering new business opportunities.

This year, the highlight topics are digital safety, smart shipping, new trends in naval technology and green propulsion, as well as safety and defense of international shipping routes. In its last edition, the event had 50,000 visitors and more than 2,200 exhibitors from 66 countries in a 90,000 m2 exhibition area.

IBP member companies that wish to participate in the fair have a 25% discount on tickets for the conference. To register, they can get in touch with the Brazil-Germany Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Rio de Janeiro, Hamburg Messe & Congress GmbH (HMC)’s representative in Brazil and IBP’s partner.

Trends in the maritime industry

IBP has just made available for free download the SMM Maritime Industry Report (MIR), prepared jointly by Hamburg Messe & Congress GmbH (HMC), as the organizer of SMM, and the market research institute Mindline.

Themed Trends in SMMart Shipping, the publication considered the views of more than 2,500 participants, including senior executives, from 69 countries, to find out how decision-makers assess the future of the industry and which are their main concerns, expectations and priorities, especially after a troubled period due to the drop in new orders.
