He works at Petrobras since 2004, where he also held technical and managerial positions in the areas of thermal operation, supply and logistics of natural gas, sale of electricity and gas and energy marketing. Previously worked at Vale do Rio Doce, in logistics, and various energy efficiency improvement projects of buildings and installation and maintenance of renewable energy systems for small scale. He has a bachelor degree in electrical engineering and master's in energy systems at the Federal University of Pará.

Graduated in geology (Msc) from Angola University and post-graduated in Petroleum Geology from Algerian Petroleum Institute. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the petroleum sector.
He started his career ate AMOCO. In 1978 he joined Sonangol where he held technical and management positions and served also as adviser to the Minister of Petroleum of Angola. In November 1990 he joined Elf Exploration Angola as Deputy General Manager. Assigned to the head offices in Paris, he was responsible for the Elf Aquitaine E&P joint Ventures. In 1999, he held the position of Delegate General Manager in TotalFinaElf E&P Angola and then CEO for Total E&P Brasil and Group Representative in the Country.
In August 2008, he became Sonangol’s Country Manager in Brazil and then CEO of Sonangol Starfish Oil & Gas (SSOG). From October 2011, he became Senior Advisor of SSOG Presidency. Candido has been an active member of IBP and has served as member of the Administrations’s Council.

Felipe Arbelaez

Felipe has been with BP since 2006 and has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry.

He currently holds the position of Regional President Latin America, comprising all of BP’s upstream businesses and shareholdings in the countries of Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico, and Argentina, with the heads of each of these countries reporting into the regional president Latin America. Within this region, Felipe is accountable for overseeing all E&P access, development and production operations.

In his prior role, Felipe was Chief Commercial Officer for BP’s Integrated Supply & Trading business (IST), where he headed the Commercial Development group leading business development across the gas value chain. In addition to working with IST regional businesses he also supported the Upstream business providing guidance for gas/LNG marketing. His business portfolio included Guangdong Dapeng LNG import terminal JV and Shenzhen Dapeng LNG trucking JV in China and India Gas Solutions (India downstream gas marketing JV).

He is responsible for business development and client management in the region. He has over 10 years of experience as consultant of Energy Efficiency. A specialist working in profit improvement projects, strategic energy reviews, and best practice implementation for the oil refining industry in various countries in Latin America. Felipe has a MSc in Refinery Design and Operations and Process Integration from the University of Manchester, England and a BSc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of São Paulo, Brazil.
