Engaged to aim the best investments options in the Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I) and to contribute with oil & gas companies progress, IBP has indicated two members to represent the organization in the Scientific Technical Committee (COMTEC) of Brazil’s National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), which is the country´s regulatory agency.

Both representatives Eduardo Santos, from Petrobras, and Olivier Wambersie, from Shell, will play an important role to guarantee that COMTEC activities will give continuity to the investments in RD&I areas, which is considered as strategic to the sector´s development. Other agents from the National Organization of the Petroleum Industry (ONIP), development and research institutions, as well as universities that are involved in industry´s projects, will be part of the committee discussions.

Created by oil & gas exploration and production contracts and the technical regulation for RD&I resources application, the committee has as an objective to lead how resources from RD&I clause can be applied. It follows the provided rule that defined mandatory to companies from oil & gas industry to invest 1% of oilfields gross incomes with increased production in RD&I qualified expenses accomplishment.
