Cliff Johnson joined Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI) in September 2010 as President. He has overseen the creation of the new PRCI Technology Development Center (TDC) in Houston, Texas, which opened in 2015. The TDC will be a cornerstone for PRCI research and deployment for key solutions for the pipeline industry. As President, he has been able to grow PRCI membership by 20%. Today PRCI represents over 60% of the world’s transmission pipeline mileage.

Prior to joining to PRCI, Mr. Johnson spent 13 years at NACE International, where he has held a variety of positions during his career. His most recent position was as NACE’s Director of Public Affairs where he led NACE’s legislative initiatives.

Mr. Johnson earned his Master of Public Affairs from the Lyndon Baines Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. He has obtained his Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation and is active in the America Society of Association Executives.

He currently lives with his wife, Courtney, and 5 children (Emma, Oleg, Vivian, Lena, and Hana) in Centreville, Va.

Dr. Guerrero is a mechanical engineer who assists and guides corporations globally with their technology development needs. Dr. Guerrero has worked in research and development (R&D) and business development for several years in diverse companies such as Draper Laboratory in Cambridge, MA; Schlumberger Research (SLB) in Houston, TX and Cambridge, MA; and FIAT-IVECO in Torino Italy. Dr. Guerrero's technical expertise includes analyzing, designing, and developing mechanical systems, including those for harsh and extreme conditions. He has extensive experience with the energy and oil and gas industries and is an owner of over 20 mechanical system patents worldwide. Dr. Guerrero earned his master's and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Texas at Austin and was awarded the Honorary Doctoral degree from Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería in Lima-Peru in 2015. In 2014, he became a member of the Pan-American Academy of Engineering (32 countries). He was the 2015-2016 President of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), an organization of almost 140,000 engineers in 150 countries.

Since 2003, Dr. Guerrero has collaborated with MIT professors, graduate students, and WHOI researchers and lectured in engineering at MIT. He developed applications for Draper Laboratory’s technological capabilities and assets in the energy industry, including oil and gas exploration and the nuclear industry. Dr. Guerrero served as a principal research scientist at SLB, where he helped develop robots to convey equipment in horizontal oil and gas wells. He also established numerous research collaborations with professors and students from universities and research centers around the world and led the 2,400-member SLB/Eureka Mechanical Engineering Community in 3 continents and all SLB engineering centers for 5 years.

He is fluent in several languages, and loves skiing and swimming, history, economics, and Renaissance Italian art.

Mr. Paviglianiti is an Engineering Technical Leader at the National Energy Board (NEB) in Calgary, Canada. Joe has over 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He worked in oil and gas facility construction for 14 years as an NDE technician before obtaining Civil Engineering degree from the University of Calgary. Joe has been with the NEB for over 20 years and his responsibilities include construction and pipe integrity inspections, auditing and reviewing integrity management programs, fitness for service evaluations and engineering assessments and conducting failure investigations. In addition, he provides input into regulatory and standards development and is the past Chairman of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Z662 Oil and Gas standard Technical Committee and is the Canadian representative on the ISO TC67/SC2 committee. Joe also participated on the executive of the ASME Pipeline System Division and International Pipeline Technology Institute. In addition to having published papers in technical conferences proceedings and journals, Joe has provided training and presentations on various integrity management related topics, construction techniques, standards development, and regulations in numerous countries.

Since that time, he has been a pipeline engineer, operations manager, business developer, executive, expert witness, and consultant. Tom has written two books and numerous papers and articles about oil and gas pipelines. He is currently working on the second edition of his first book, Oil and Gas Pipelines in Nontechnical Language. Since 2008, Tom has taught over 150 pipeline classes to approximately 2,500 people. Michael Rapp is head of the global business line ‘Proficient Pipeline Diagnostics’, being responsible for the ROSEN Group inline inspection (ILI) business in the following areas:

Michael received a MSc in Physics with Economics at Heidelberg University, Germany.
During his studies and worklife he spent a significant time abroad, e.g. in France, Belgium, the U.K., spanish-speaking countries and the U.S.
He began his career in 1996 as IT Project Manager with Procter & Gamble in Frankfurt, Germany, where he subsequently built up the Market Data Analysis Programme for a Business Category using Neural Network technology. In 1999, he joined Mercedes-Benz as CRM Marketing Manager in London, U.K., to lead their European Customer Data Analysis team and develop customer loyalty programmes. In 2001 he moved on to Siemens where he held senior management positions in Business Development and Corporate Account Management, with a focus on Public Infrastructure. In 2009, he joined the board of the Siemens Ultrasound Division in Mountain View, CA, as CMO, where his responsibilities included Corporate Marketing & Communications and Corporate Product Management.
In 2012 Michael joined the ROSEN Group in Lingen, Germany, to lead the Product Management at ROSEN’s R&D center. He built up the International Service Development team, which today drives Service improvements and the creation of innovative services with a strong focus on customer benefit, such as the ROMAT service for Pipe steel grade determination via ILI and the Ultra-high resolution MFL-A service that supports operators in significantly reducing dig cost.
