The annual conference on Petroleum Phase Behavior and Fouling has been alternatively held in Europe and North America since 1999.
For the first time, in 2009, celebrating its 10th anniversary, the conference will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It will be organized by the Brazilian Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Institute - IBP.
The conference provides a unique oportunity for academic and industrial researchers to keep up to date with the latest advances in the area of petroleum phase behavior and fouling. Topics of particular interest include: - Physics and chemistry of heavy oil and bitumem - Asphaltenes and petroleum macromolecules - Wax thermodynamics and deposition - Emulsions - Naphthenates and naphthenic acids - Mechanism and mitigation of fouling - Upgrading and refining
